The flower delivery company has pretty solid reasoning for the decision.
Sending valentine flowers to your loved ones with online delivery services has never been more popular. A way to show you care especially when florists are shut or if you're unable to deliver in person.
With Valentine's Day and Mother's Day coming up it's only going to get busier. But Bloom & Wild, one of the most popular letterbox flower delivery services just announced a pretty bold plan this Valentine's day.
It plans to sell no red roses... at all.
More of their customers sent pastel or bright bouquets last year, so they did some research on the old red roses.
The brand says that in a survey of their customers male and female, 58% thought red roses were cliche, 79% said they want a unique and thoughtful valentines day gift over something traditional like red roses, 70% of women would prefer something else. 38% even think of red roses as a last minute gift or a gift with little thought.
So, to encourage buyers to put more thought into which bouquet of gorgeous flowers is right for their loved one, the online site will have no red roses to purchase over the Valentine's period. That's a firm nudge toward a more personal pick.
And they have plenty of incredible choices to peruse, with prices starting at £24.
Hopefully shoppers will take the time now to get creative and pick the perfect bunch. We didn't expect the decision to be for such a sweet reason.
